1. What's a Phrasal Verb?

A phrasal verb is made of two pieces: a normal verb, and a preposition.

Its meaning is completely different from the meaning of the normal verb.

Example :

"look" is a normal verb and means "watch " or "see" ("তাকানো" in Bengali).

But "look for" is a phrasal verb and means "search" ("খোঁজা" in Bengali ).

"for" is a preposition, and when we add it to "look", it changes its meaning completely.

A sentence with "look" meaning " তাকানো ":

Don't look now.

(এখন তাকিও না।)

A sentence with "look for" meaning " খোঁজা ":

I'm looking for the keys.

আমি চাবিগুলো খুঁজছি।
